NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be conducted by the Town of Newton Planning Commission on March 11th, 2024 beginning at 6:00 pm at the Town of Newton Town Hall, located at 6532 Carsten Lake Road, Manitowoc, WI to consider action on an ordinance to amend the Town of Newton Year 2040 Comprehensive Plan herein referred to as “the Plan.” The purpose of the Public Hearing is to accept public comments on the Town of Newton Plan Commission’s recommended changes to the Plan consisting of the removal of text which addresses maximum lot sizes as a Plan implementation tool.

The public may view the recommended text changes on the Town of Newton Website by CLICKING HERE (PDF download, 2 MB). Interested parties may also make arrangements to obtain a copy of the recommended text changes by calling Town Chair, Denise Thomas, at 920-973-6961, or by e-mailing: [email protected].

During the Public Hearing, the public is invited to speak on the recommended text changes. Written comments may be submitted to the Town Chair or through the Town website until conclusion of the Public Hearing and will become part of the record. The Public Hearing shall be closed when all interested parties in attendance have had an opportunity to offer comment. Upon the close of the Public Hearing, comments will be forwarded to the Town Board for consideration and possible action on amendment of the Plan by ordinance.
