FIREWORKS:
If you are applying for a fireworks permit after the June Town Board meeting (held the second Wednesday of June unless otherwise indicated on the sign outside the Town Hall and also on the web site) you must contact the Town Chairman, Kevin Behnke at (920) 726-4562. If you apply before the June meeting send the forms to the clerk.
Your application and bond will be submitted to the Town Board and if allowed the Town Clerk will procure a permit from the Town Board which will be sent to you. Please complete both the application and bond shown below.
Permits for the possession and use of fireworks in the Town of Newton has to be issued by the Town in which the use is to occur. Only permits issued by the local municipality are valid, and only a municipal official or employee is allowed to issue one; permits sold by fireworks vendors are invalid and do not constitute any degree of compliance with town permitting requirements.

The amount of the Bond is $100,000.00.
DOGS:
All dogs must be licensed and have their rabies inoculation by April 1st or you will be notified by the Law Enforcement Officer that non-compliance will result in a $35.00 late fee per owner. Contact Paulette Vogt, Treasurer; Phone: 758-2720 for a license.

TOWN HALL:
The Newton Town Hall is available for rent at a cost of $50.00 This is open to any Town resident. If interested contact Ed Downing at (920) 758-2338 for further information and availability. The hall has central air, so if in the summer time you need to have a cool place for a family get together the Town Hall is available.

LOTTERY CREDIT:
If you do not have a lottery credit on your tax bill, you may still be eligible. To qualify you must own a home in Wisconsin and you must have occupied that home as your primary residence on January 1st of the year in which the tax is levied.
A primary residence is a home in which a property owner lives more than six months of the year.
If a resident is temporarily absent a primary residence is the home to which an owner returns.

PERMITS:
All residents in the town must have a permit for installing new driveways, new culverts or extending, replacing or repairing existing driveways or culverts.

CONDITIONS FOR NEW DRIVEWAYS AND CULVERTS AND THE RECONSTRUCTION, LANDSCAPING OR REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING DRIVEWAYS AND CULVERTS:
BUILDING PERMIT
A county permit is required for any new structure or an addition to an existing structure which can be obtained from Planning & Park Commission, 4319 Expo Drive, Manitowoc. After obtaining a county permit, a town permit is also needed.
Also improvements to property that have a value over $1,000.00 are required to obtain a building permit.
After obtaining a county permit from Planning and Park Commission, a town permit is also required. Effective as of September 1, 2004, the Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code was adopted. All new homes need to be inspected.
MOVING PERMIT
A moving permit is required for all buildings being moved on roads within the Town of Newton. Said permit may be obtained from the Zoning Administrator. The Sheriff's Department should also be notified about such move.
WRECKING PERMIT
Any building being torn down; removed, or burned by the Newton Fire Department should obtain a wrecking permit from the Zoning Administrator. There is no charge for this permit. Obtaining this permit insures that the building will be taken off of the tax roll.
